Tuttosport: Pogba wants Juve return

Tuttosport claim Paul Pogba wants a return to Juventus just two years on from his €105m transfer to Manchester United.

According to the Turin-based newspaper, the World Cup winner is tired of life under Jose Mourinho and is ready to move on.

Much like when he left Juve for a return to Old Trafford in 2016, he is eager to stick with what he knows and that means the Bianconeri.

World Cup: Croatia can't stop France

Croatia dominated the World Cup Final for long periods, with Ivan Perisic and Mario Mandzukic on target, but France won the trophy 4-2.

This was the first ever Final for Croatia, while Les Bleus hadn’t been here since losing to Italy in 2006 and star striker Kylian Mbappé was born the same year as their last victory in 1998.

Perisic shook off a thigh injury to start with Inter teammate Marcelo Brozovic, Juve’s Mandzukic and Milan full-back Ivan Strinic. Blaise Matuidi of Juve again played in a more advanced role.

Ivan Perisic is passed fit to start for Croatia in the World Cup Final against Blaise Matuidi’s France.

The trophy is decided at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow at 16.00 UK time (15.00 GMT).

France sailed through relatively untroubled to the Final and are the favourites, even if it is their first World Cup Final since losing to Italy on penalties in 2006.

Kylian Mbappé is the star name to watch in attack with Antoine Griezmann and Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi in a more advanced role.

Serie A in World Cup Final

There are seven Serie A players participating in the World Cup Final between Croatia and France on Sunday.

This evening, Croatia beat England 2-1 in extra time to enter their first ever World Cup Final, as it was only their second semi-final after 1998.

Serie A figures were decisive, as Inter winger Ivan Perisic scored the equaliser and then nodded on a loose ball for Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic to finish it off.

World Cup: France in the Final

Samuel Umtiti’s header from a corner proved enough, as France ended Belgium’s 24-game unbeaten run and reached the World Cup Final.

It’s their first Final since losing the 2006 showdown to Italy on penalties, but in Moscow they’ll face either England or Croatia this weekend.

With Thomas Meunier suspended, Belgium brought in Nacer Chadli and again benched Dries Mertens, while France had Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi back from his ban to replace Corentin Tolisso.

Buffon: Matuidi convinced me

Gianluigi Buffon reveals ex-Juventus teammate Blaise Matuidi advised him to join Paris Saint-Germain and is excited to play alongside the ‘incredible’ Neymar.

“Blaise is a special person and the empathy between us is very strong,” continued the 40-year-old at his presentation.

Matuidi: ‘Nice to have Ronaldo’

Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi says “it would be nice to have one of the best players in the world”, amid Cristiano Ronaldo rumours.

The Portuguese superstar is being linked with a move to Turin this summer, in a €100m deal.

It has been claimed that CR7 is being offered a €30m per season contract, four times what current top earner Gonzalo Higuain makes.

It has been suggested that Adidas could help fund the move, but Ronaldo signed a ‘lifetime’ deal with Nike just two years ago.

World Cup: Mbappe' mauls Argentina

Argentina were torn apart by the pace of Kylian Mbappé in a 4-3 thriller, but France will miss Blaise Matuidi in the quarter-final against Portugal or Uruguay.

Both sides went into the tournament among the favourites, but struggled in the group stages and made numerous changes. Jorge Sampaoli moved Leo Messi into an inexplicable False 9 role, dropping Gonzalo Higuain and Sergio Aguero, while Juventus midfielder Matuidi was on the left side of a supporting trident.

World Cup: France escape Peru push

France booked their spot in the Round of 16 with an historic Kylian Mbappé goal, but Peru were unfortunate and dominated the second half.

Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi stepped into the starting XI after a hard-fought opening win over Australia, somewhat surprisingly on the left wing, while Peru striker Paulo Guerrero was finally fit to lead the line.

Les Bleus surged forward immediately, Kylian Mbappé penalty appeals waved away as he went down in the box, then Antoine Griezmann’s shot was parried by the knees of goalkeeper Pedro Gallese.
