There may have been controversy over the kick-off time, but Gaby McKay says the Derby della Madonnina was a tremendous advert for Serie A.

The decision to move the Milan derby to 12.30 local time didn’t go down well in all sectors. Keen to capitalise on the Chinese market with both Inter and Milan owned by investors from the Orient, the Lega Serie A decided on a kick-off that would guarantee prime-time in Asia.

Montella: ‘Meeting for Milan renewal’

Vincenzo Montella will meet the new Milan owners “in the coming days” to discuss a contract renewal.

Yonghong Li’s Rossoneri Sport Investment Lux group finally completed their takeover of the Rossoneri this week, and were in the stands for today’s dramatic 2-2 draw with Inter.

“A renewal? In a few words, I think so,” Montella said in his post-match Press conference.

Li: Small steps for Milan

New Milan President Yonghong Li has warned that it will take “small steps” for the Rossoneri to regain their place among the world’s elite clubs.

Two years of negotations ended on Thursday as Li’s consortium formally purchased Milan from Silvio Berlusconi, and the Chinese believes the Diavolo must return to the Champions League before they can look further.

“I’m very thrilled and excited to become Milan’s President,” he told Premium Sport.

Official: Yonghong Li new Milan President

Yonghong Li has been officially confirmed as the new Milan President after today’s shareholders’ meeting.

The Chinese businessman is the head of Rossoneri Sport Investment Lux, which completed its takeover of the club yesterday.

Following today’s Press conference, there was a shareholders’ meeting to officially appoint the new board and Li has been confirmed as the new patron.

Han Li, is also on the board along with Lu Bo, Renshau Xu, Roberto Cappelli, Marco Fassone, Marco Patuano and Paolo Scaroni.

The Chinese investor spoke to the Press at Casa Milan this morning.

"For all lovers of Milan, today is an important day: Rossoneri Sport Investment Lux have completed the purchase of the shares in Milan.

Milan Derby Deadlock
