Galliani: ‘Destro brings enthusiasm’

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani is happy with Mattia Destro’s reception, whilst he suggests the Rossoneri won’t be signing anyone else.

Destro was greeted by media and fans at the Milano Centrale station this afternoon, as he arrived to complete his initial loan move from Roma.

Before accompanying the player on to La Madonnina clinic to undergo medical tests, Milan’s joint-CEO offered his reaction to the welcome received.

Destro: ‘Delighted to be at Milan’

Mattia Destro has arrived in Milan to complete his transfer to the Rossoneri, and says he’s ‘delighted’ to be signing.

The striker arrived at Milano Centrale on a train from Rome at around 4pm GMT, and was immediately swamped by fans and journalists.

“All that matters is I’m here, and I want to start working right away,” Destro said on his arrival.

“I’m delighted to be at Milan. Am I impressed by this reception? Yes.”

Montolivo: ‘Destro is a great striker’

Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo says Mattia Destro is a ‘great striker’ as he looks set to join the Rossoneri.

The Roma forward is on his way to Milan to sign for the Diavolo, having agreed to a transfer this morning.

The Italian international has revealed he can’t wait to get started, and the captain of his new club welcomes the signing.

“He [Destro] is a great striker,” Montolivo told Milan Channel.

“He’s shown that in recent years. We hope he comes in and can help us.

Destro: ‘Milan for a new challenge’

Mattia Destro has confirmed he’s on his way to Milan, saying he’s already counting down to playing at San Siro.

The Roma forward was confirmed this morning as having agreed a move to the Rossoneri, and has spoken of his delight on his official Facebook page.

“Thank you Roma, I was a kid and you made me grow up,” Destro posted.

“Now to Milanello for a new challenge, convinced and determined.

“I’m already counting down to San Siro!”

Milan Channel: Destro deal done

Milan Channel has announced that a deal has been completed to sign Mattia Destro from Roma.

The forward has been in talks with the Rossoneri, with joint-CEO Adriano Galliani visiting him at his house in Rome in an effort to seal the deal.

Destro promised a decision today, and following reports from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla that a deal had been completed, the club’s in-house television channel have confirmed the deal.

Milan await Destro decision

Mattia Destro will decide this morning whether to move to Milan, as details of the contract offered emerge.

The Rossoneri have agreed a deal with Roma to sign the forward on an initial loan deal, with joint-CEO Adriano Galliani confirming yesterday that the player would decide today.

This morning’s Tuttosport repeats the line that Destro is unsure over accepting a loan deal, which could see him return to Stadio Olimpico in the summer.

Adriano Galliani confirms Milan and Roma already signed off on Mattia Destro, but “the player will decide tomorrow morning.”

The CEO visited Destro’s house today in order to convince him to accept the transfer, which is on loan with an option to buy.

It’s believed the striker only wanted to move on a permanent basis, but has asked to sleep on it.
