Destro to return to Roma?

It’s reported that Milan will not take up their option on Mattia Destro this summer, and the striker will return to Roma.

The Italian international joined the Rossoneri in January on an initial loan deal, with the option of redeeming the forward for €16m this summer.

However, Destro has scored just two goals in his time at San Siro, the last of those coming in March.

Il Messaggero reports that a decision has been made, and the 24-year-old will not return to Milanello next season, and will return to Roma when the season ends.

Destro open to new Milan loan

Mattia Destro’s agent “won’t rule out” an extension of his loan at Milan rather than an immediate return to Roma.

It has become clear Milan do not have any intention of taking up their €16m option to buy the striker outright at the end of the season.

“We have to wait for the final games before judging the situation,” representative Claudio Vigorelli told Gazzetta TV.

“The player arrived in Milan with great enthusiasm and I think over these last few months the Rossoneri saw his quality.

Handanovic: Roma or England?

Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic faces Roma tonight and potentially his future club, though Liverpool and Manchester United are also interested.

The shot-stopper’s contract is due to expire in June 2016 and all signs from his agents suggest they are a long way off agreeing an extension.

That would mean Handanovic’s sale this summer and Roma are the long-term favourites to get the Slovenia international as an heir to the ageing Morgan De Sanctis.

Fiorentina target Destro?

Fiorentina are reportedly weighing up a move for on-loan Milan striker Mattia Destro should the Rossoneri decide not to take the option to buy.

The Viola are on the lookout for a new striker in the summer after a disappointing campaign from Mario Gomez and the club are monitoring the situation between Roma and Milan.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Rossoneri would want a discount if they were to buy the striker from the Lupi when his loan ends, but negotiations have been put on standby.

Destro and agent revise comments

Mattia Destro distanced himself from claims Milan are too “modest” for his ambitions, while his agent revises those words.

Representative Renzo Contratto caused quite a stir today when he said the Rossoneri represented “too modest an environment, perhaps the most modest in the last 30 years.”

They don’t look likely to qualify for Europe, which would be the second season in a row out of continental competition.

Destro agent: ‘Milan too modest’

The agent of Milan’s Mattia Destro hints that the club are ‘too modest’ for his client’s ambitions.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Milan are unsure about keeping Destro and would only do so for around €8m.
