'Napoli will bother Milan'

Andrea Dossena has promised that Napoli will continue to bother League leaders Milan in the title race this season.

'Mazzarri can leave Napoli...'

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis says Walter Mazzarri can leave the club, but only if he wants to amid interest from Turin giants Juventus.

The 49-year-old is highly regarded after leading Napoli to third place this season. Until last month the Partenopei were dark horses for the Scudetto.

"Mazzarri is in my heart," De Laurentiis said. "For this reason I gave him a four-year deal last summer.

Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik insists his side are doing their utmost to finish as high as possible this season.

The Partenopei got back to winning ways at the weekend with a fine 3-1 win away to relegation strugglers Parma.

Napoli are now just seven points behind Serie A leaders Milan and look likely to qualify for next year's Champions League.

"It was a difficult match," Hamsik said. "We played on a pitch that was made heavy by the rain.

Trap hails Verona-like Napoli

Giovanni Trapattoni has likened the present Napoli side to Osvaldo Bagnoli's legendary Verona outfit of the 1980s.

Bagnoli's Stadio Bentegodi boys surprisingly became League champions in 1985 for the first time after slaying Italian football's traditional giants.

"Walter Mazzarri's side reminds me a lot of the miraculous Verona team which won the Scudetto under Bagnoli," stated the Republic of Ireland boss, who was in charge of Juventus at the time.

Mazzarri gives Juventus job hint

Napoli Coach Walter Mazzarri refused to deny reports he has been approached by Juventus. “There's no point talking about this now.”

The tactician has been linked with the job in Turin next season, as Gigi Del Neri is hanging by a thread after three consecutive defeats.

When asked about the rumours, Mazzarri's reaction in today's Press conference was unexpectedly coy.

“It is gratifying when your worth is recognised, but I am not falling for this,” he declared.
