Report: Napoli push to play Juventus

Juventus-Napoli could still go ahead, according to Il Mattino, as the Partenopei’s appeal at CONI could change the sports judge’s decision.

Napoli have submitted a formal appeal against the decision of the FIGC judge to give the Azzurri a 3-0 defeat by default against Juventus and a one-point deduction.

The newspaper claims it remains to be seen if the Neapolitans could have travelled on Sunday afternoon and if the Azzurri’s appeal could change the outcome.

Regrets grow stronger for Napoli

The excitement generated by a comfortable triumph over the league’s form side has been dampened by the Juventus controversy, writes Owen Diana.

That a 4-1 victory over one of Europe’s best outfits could be bittersweet would be inconceivable in normal circumstances, but the last few weeks have been anything but normal for Napoli. Saturday’s first-half destruction of La Dea highlighted how far the Southerners have come in recent months, but that impressive improvement has been tempered by the fallout from the club’s decision not to travel to Turin to face Juventus.

Lozano key to Napoli title hopes?

Hirving Lozano has had a great start to the season and Ciro Di Brita asks if it will be enough for Napoli to become credible title contenders.

Hirving Lozano’s brace in Napoli’s 4-1 drubbing of Atalanta saw the winger finally come of age for the Partenopei.

The Mexico International has four goals in three games so far this season and is starting to justify every penny of the €42mthe Azzurri paid PSV Eindhoven in August 2019.
