Zarate: Regret leaving Lazio, Kolarov…

Mauro Zarate ‘regrets’ leaving Lazio in 2011 but ‘dreams’ of a return and criticised ex-Aquile teammate Aleksandar Kolarov for joining Roma last summer.

Zarate spent four seasons at Lazio – the first two of which were alongside Kolarov – scoring 33 goals in 124 appearances for the Biancocelesti and winning a Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa, but the Argentine attacker departed over a contract dispute.

Tactical Preview: Roma v Milan

It’s all about getting crosses and set-plays into the box for the target men, as Marcello Cossali-Francis breaks down the Roma-Milan systems.

The Giallorossi win a lot of games by the odd goal and their scoring record is considerably weaker than the rest of the top four. They’re very solid defensively, the third best in the league, and are always very difficult to beat.

4-2-3-1 vs 4-3-3

Kolarov: Nainggolan will score twice

Roma’s Aleksandar Kolarov claims Radja Nainggolan will score twice against Inter and that “I like Edin Dzeko more” than Mauro Icardi.

Icardi goes into Sunday’s clash between the two sides as Serie A’s second top scorer, while Nainggolan will make his first appearance since being reprimanded for a New Year’s video of him drinking and smoking.

“Icardi their biggest threat? Yes, but they also have other players that can make the difference,” the left-back told Sky Sport Italia.

Defrel still out for Roma

Gregoire Defrel isn’t fit enough to travel with Roma to face Juventus, but Aleksandar Kolarov returns to the squad.

The Giallorossi face the Old Lady in Turin tomorrow night, as they look to get a first win away at Juve since January 2010.

Defrel returned to training this week after struggling with a knee injury, but Coach Eusebio Di Francesco hasn’t deemed him fit enough to make the squad.

Kolarov returns after being rested in the midweek Coppa Italia defeat to Torino, meaning it’s pretty much a full squad for the Lupi.

Tactics talk: Roma's winning left wing

Roma claimed the bragging rights over rivals Lazio after a solid performance in the Derby della Capitale.

Two goals early in the second half were enough to hold off Lazio, as the Biancocelesti eventually pulled one back.

Both teams came into this game in good shape after the international break. The Coaches, Eusebio Di Francesco and Simone Inzaghi, have both convinced so far and expectations are high at the moment.

Tare: 'Derby a separate entity'

Lazio director Igli Tare believes the Derby della Capitale against Roma “is a separate entity, so whoever wants it the most will win.”

“This is a derby near the top of the table. Both teams are in great form, but the derby is a separate entity, so whoever wants it the most today will win,” the Aquile director of sport told Mediaset Premium.

Nicola: 'Roma penalty invented'

Crotone Coach Davide Nicola is still furious after his team lost to Roma thanks to “a penalty that was totally invented.”

The 1-0 result at the Stadio Olimpico last night was decided by a Diego Perotti spot-kick, but although VAR has now been introduced, there seemed to be precious little contact between Mario Sampirisi and Aleksandar Kolarov.

“Apparently, the Stadio Olimpico doesn’t bring us much luck with referees,” Nicola told reporters.

Serie A Team of Week 9

Following the draw with Inter, Napoli still remain top as Dave Taylor selects his best XI from Week 9’s action.

Samir Handanovic [Inter]

The big Slovenian pulled off a series of great saves, allowing the visitors to come away with a hard-earned point. His fabulous double save to first deny Jose Callejon saw him immediately whip back up to block Dries Mertens from converting the rebound with a strong right hand block. Excellent.

Raul Albiol [Napoli]
