Gullit: ‘No problem with Neymar deal’

Ruud Gullit shrugs off Neymar’s €222m transfer fee, pointing out “Silvio Berlusconi was clear he wanted to spend a lot to win”.

The midfielder was one of the former Milan President’s first signings after his takeover, and he went on to win three Scudetti and two European Cups with the Rossoneri.

This summer saw Neymar leave Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in a €222m deal, but Gullit doesn’t see a problem with the deal.

Sacchi: ‘Napoli condemned to perfection’

Arrigo Sacchi believes Juventus will win the Scudetto again, as while he prefers Napoli they’re “condemned to perfection”.

The Bianconeri have won the title for the past six seasons in a row, a Serie A record, but Maurizio Sarri’s side have been tipped to challenge the Old Lady for her crown this season.

“Juventus will win the Scudetto again, because they have the advantage of having a superior character,” Sacchi predicted in an interview with Corriere della Sera.

PSG pay Verratti €12m salary?

Journal du Dimanche claims Marco Verratti will sign a new Paris Saint-Germain contract worth €12m (£10.8m) per year.

The Italy international had asked to leave in May when he was frustrated by the lack of silverware and Champions League ambition.

However, after they shelled out a world record €222m to release Neymar from his Barcelona contract and brought in Dani Alves from Juventus, there is more confidence at PSG.

Barcelona €120m for Dybala?

Barcelona continue to be linked with Paulo Dybala, as Italian papers claim they are offering €120m or cash plus Andres Iniesta, Rafinha or Andre Gomes, but Juventus hold firm.

With Neymar buying himself out of his contract for €222m to join Paris Saint-Germain, the Blaugrana need a replacement and have cash to burn.

Several fan polls have put Dybala top of the list of ideal signings and it’s believed his Argentina teammate Lionel Messi is also pushing for La Joya.

Neymar: 'PSG ambition attracted me'

As expected, Paris Saint-Germain have signed Brazilian hitman Neymar, but he bought himself out of his Barcelona contract for €222m.

It remains to be seen whether taking this unorthodox approach will exclude PSG from punishment under Financial Fair Play rules, as technically he signed on once he was a free agent.

“Paris Saint-Germain is very happy to announce the arrival of Neymar Jr to the team,” read a statement.

When Serie A broke the transfer record…

Since 1982, Italian clubs have broken the world transfer record nine times, but they weren’t quite Neymar figures.

The Brazilian is on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona for a fee of €222m, more than doubling the current world transfer record.

It’s been 17 years since a Serie A side smashed the transfer record, but 1984 and 2000 and Italian side broke the record on nine occasions.

Dybala unsellable for Juventus

Juventus would reportedly reject any Barcelona offer for Paulo Dybala, unless he asks to leave.

The Blaugrana are set to lose Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain, as the French side will pay his €222m release clause.

It has been suggested that Paulo Dybala could replace him, with Barça ready to put an offer for €130-140m.

However, Corriere dello reports that the Bianconeri consider La Joya unsellable, and won’t let him go for any price.

L'Equipe: Mbappe demands transfer

L’Equipe claim that Kylian Mbappé told Monaco he wants a transfer, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and PSG options.

Juventus had been linked with the 18-year-old sensation, but baulked at the price-tag of approximately €180m.

If the story is true, then Barcelona have to be the main contenders just hours after Neymar formally told Barcelona he wanted to leave.

Neymar is said to have undergone a medical today in Oporto, accompanied by representatives from Paris Saint-Germain.
