Clubs suspend training sessions

Several Serie A clubs, including Milan, Fiorentina and Hellas Verona, have suspended their training sessions during the Coronavirus outbreak.

A new Government decree issued last night ruled that all sporting events would be put on hold until April 3, as the entire country is effectively put into lockdown to stem the spread of the highly-infectious respiratory illness.

That includes Serie A and Serie B, while for the moment it looks as if Champions League and Europa League fixtures will go ahead behind closed doors.

Gotti: 'Udinese don't convert chances'

Udinese coach Luca Gotti was left to rue missed opportunities in the 0-0 draw with Fiorentina, but “it is a fair result.”

The Friulani played out their fourth consecutive draw, so remain two points behind Fiorentina in the table.

“Today’s results elsewhere in the relegation battle really made the table tighter down there, but I continue to tell my players that our fate is purely in our hands,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.

Iachini: 'Too much uncertainty'

Fiorentina coach Beppe Iachini “liked the attitude” from his team in a goalless draw with Udinese, but struggled amid the “uncertainty.”

The game was played behind closed doors, rescheduled from last week, and the Viola had the best chance when hitting the woodwork with Nikola Milenkovic.

“The lads did well, considering it was behind closed doors and the quality of the opposition,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.
