Commisso: 'Chiesa worth over €100m'

Rocco Commisso warns Fiorentina “won’t make the same mistake as with Roberto Baggio. I won’t sell Federico Chiesa even for €100m.”

The Italian-American billionaire purchased the club from the Della Valle brothers and has big plans for this new era.

“I am 69 years old, but this morning I again woke up at 5.30am to start work,” Commisso told Il Sole 24 Ore newspaper.

Marotta: 'End transfer fees after 25!'

De Rossi ready to retire

Daniele De Rossi has reportedly decided to retire after Roma refused to offer him a new contract.

The World Cup winner turns 36 later this month and spent his entire career in the Giallorossi jersey.

There was interest from the likes of Sampdoria, Fiorentina, Milan, Bologna, various MLS clubs and Boca Juniors.

However, according to Il Tempo newspaper, De Rossi has decided it’s not worth uprooting his family for a new experience and he is ready to call it a day.

Milan increase Veretout offer

Milan are offering Lucas Biglia plus €13m for Jordan Veretout, but Fiorentina only want cash, as Roma and Lyon are also interested.

The midfielder remains the hot topic of conversation in Florence after director of sport Daniele Pradè confirmed the Frenchman wants to leave this summer.

So far, the proposals are unconvincing for a variety of reasons, but negotiations continue.

According to Sportitalia, Milan are now offering €13m cash plus Biglia, but the problem remains that Fiorentina only want money and no player exchanges.

Fiorentina after Luiz Gustavo

Fiorentina are interested in a €10m swoop for Olympique Marseille midfielder Luiz Gustavo, according to reports in France.

The Brazilian turns 32 later this month and is still under contract until June 2021, but Marseille have serious financial problems and need to raise funds.

According to La Provence newspaper, Fiorentina have set their sights on Luiz Gustavo, who is available for around €10m.

Kevin Strootman would be on the market, but the club feels there’s a better chance of selling Luiz Gustavo quickly.

Laurini to join Parma

Fiorentina full-back Vincent Laurini is all set to join Parma and he will have his medical on Saturday.

According to Sportitalia, a deal has been struck and a three-year contract lined up.

The 30-year-old Frenchman is primarily a right-back, but can also play on the left when needed.

He has been in Italy since 2008 with Forsempronese, Carpi, Empoli and joined Fiorentina in 2017.

Parma: 'Balotelli too expensive'

Parma confessed they “tried to sign Mario Balotelli, but the costs are simply not accessible for a club like ours.”

The Italy international is a free agent, as his contract with Olympique Marseille expired after just six months.

“We tried to sign Balotelli and get closer to our respective positions, but we realised the costs are simply not accessible for a club like Parma,” President Pietro Pizarotti told reporters at a Press conference.

Gerson: '80 per cent Flamengo'

Roma midfielder Gerson has rejected a move to Dynamo Moscow, as his father reveals “there is an 80 per cent chance he will play for Flamengo.”

The Giallorossi had agreed a €10m plus bonuses transfer to Dynamo Moscow and it’s reported the clubs even exchange documents, but he failed to accept their personal terms.

“This is the situation. It’s not just Flamengo who are interested in the player, but other clubs too, despite the fact he is still under contract with Roma,” Gerson’s father Marco Antonio told Radio Brasil.

Another loan for Fiorentina winger

FC Twente have announced that Fiorentina winger Rafik Zekhnini will spend another season on loan at the club.

Zekhnini joined Fiorentina from Norwegian side Odd in the summer of 2017 but has played just once for them in Serie A.

The 21-year-old was sent to Twente last season and helped them back into the Eredivisie with five goals and four assists.
