OFFICIAL: Verona sign Benassi

Hellas Verona have officially signed Marco Benassi on loan with an option to buy from Fiorentina.

The 26-year-old, who played 18 Serie A matches in 2019-20, moves to Ivan Juric’s side after three seasons with the Viola.

“Hellas Verona FC announce that they have signed on loan with an option to buy from ACF Fiorentina, the sports performances of Marco Benassi, the midfielder born in 1994,” the club wrote in a statement.

Viola: Biraghi injured in 5-1 win

Fiorentina wing-back Cristiano Biraghi left the pitch injured after 21 minutes of the 5-1 win against Reggiana today.

The left-back, who recently returned from loan at Inter, headed straight down the tunnel after taking a hit in the first half against Reggiana today.

Braces from Franck Ribery and Christian Kouame and a goal from Federico Chiesa secured a triumphant win in Saturday’s friendly.

But Biraghi has Iachini worried, as the coach must wait to understand the extent of the Italy international’s injury.

Fiorentina target Firpo?

Fiorentina have, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, approached Barcelona, hoping to bring full-back Junior Firpo to the Artemio Franchi.

The Viola are looking for a new full-back and the newspaper reveals sporting director Daniele Prade has contacted the Blaugrana regarding the defender.

The report claims Napoli have been in touch with the club over the 24-year-old, who moved to Barcelona from Real Betis for €18m in August 2019.

Firpo played 17 games in La Liga 2019-20 but could leave Camp Nou after only one season.

Tatarusanu: 'I'm proud of being at Milan'

Ciprian Tatarusanu thinks he can ‘bring balance to the young squad’ at Milan and ‘hopes to get on well’ with Gigio Donnarumma.

Milan have paid Olympique Lyonnais €500,000 to purchase the Romania international, who signed a three-year contract with the Rossoneri.

“From this new adventure with Milan, I expect to play good football, to be part of a really strong squad and to finish higher in the table than last season,” Tatarusanu told Milan TV.

Sottil: 'I didn't hesitate to join Cagliari'

Riccardo Sottil revealed he was convinced to join Cagliari by Eusebio Di Francesco. ‘For a young player, it’s important to have a coach like him’.

The 21-year-old moved from Fiorentina on loan with an option to buy and looks forward to start his new chapter with the Casteddu.

“As soon as I heard about Cagliari, I didn’t hesitate to come here,” Sottil told the club’s official website.

“It’s a glorious place, with a lot of passion and I was shown a lot of affection upon my arrival at the airport.

Conte back in for Alonso?

Inter coach Antonio Conte has reportedly targeted Chelsea full-back Marcos Alonso, as Henrique Dalbert could leave San Siro.

Conte has, according to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, returned to the Blues defender, having tried to sign the Spanish full-back in January.

Alonso left Fiorentina and Serie A in August 2016 and joined Conte’s former club, where he has impressed during his time in London.

The report claims the two could be reunited in Milan, as Conte is looking to offload Dalbert to make room for the 29-year-old.

Borja Valero to have Viola medical

Borja Valero will have his Fiorentina medical tomorrow and complete his return to the Viola.

Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more are all confident the Spanish midfielder will have his tests on Saturday.

The 35-year-old already spent five years at the Stadio Artemio Franchi from 2012 to 2017, leaving as a free agent to join Inter.

His contract with Inter has also now expired and he made a dream come true by returning to Tuscany.

Borja Valero is expected to sign a one-year contract.

Cutrone and Vlahovic combine for Fiorentina

Fiorentina flattened Grosseto 5-1 with Patrick Cutrone scoring two and creating two, and a Dusan Vlahovic hat-trick.

Beppe Iachini set his team out in a 3-5-2 formation and Cutrone made an immediate impact, opening the scoring with a daisy-cutter, then earning a penalty converted by Vlahovic.

Cutrone provided another assist for Vlahovic, then completed his own brace.

Sofyan Amrabat’s cross created the fifth goal, a Vlahovic diving header, and Giacomo Bonaventura made his debut for the Tuscans.

Tatarusanu passed the medical at Milan

Ciprian Tatarusanu passed his medical and has arrived at Casa Milan to sign a three-year contract, moving to Milan from Olympique Lyonnais.

The Lyon goalkeeper has been chosen as the Rossoneri’s understudy to Gianluigi Donnarumma and went through the required medical tests today.

He passed and Tuttomercatoweb reveals the former Fiorentina goalkeeper has arrived to complete the transfer from Ligue 1.

Amrabat: 'I chose Viola with my heart'

Sofyan Amrabat said he ‘chose with my heart’ as he picked Fiorentina over five other Serie A clubs and thinks he will be able to contribute to ‘many important things’ at the Artemio Franchi.

Amrabat moved from Hellas Verona to Fiorentina in January, but the Viola allowed him to finish the season with the Gialloblu.

“I’m really happy to be here. It’s a great honour,” Amrabat said at a press conference. “I’m a player who follows his feelings and I chose with my heart.
