Roma pick up Paredes

Roma have signed Leandro Paredes on loan from Boca Juniors with option to buy after his Chievo spell.

The 20-year-old Argentine trequartista arrived in Serie A in January for Chievo, but that was a way of circumventing the rules on the number of non-EU players each club can sign in one season.

Tevez: Pains me not to be there

Carlos Tevez says it ‘pains him’ not to be at the World Cup, as he reflects on his dream to end his career at Boca Juniors.

The Juventus man has not been involved with the Argentine national team for a couple of years and is not a part of the 23-man squad due to kick off their World Cup campaign in Brazil on June 15.

“I have been calm and in a good mood from the moment I was told that I would not go to the World Cup,” Tevez has told reporters this week on the matter.

Paredes 'learned from Riquelme'

Chievo’s new talent Leandro Paredes says he has learned a lot from Juan Roman Riquelme at Boca Juniors.

The attacking midfielder arrived on loan via Roma on transfer deadline day, but was only presented to the media today.

“I started playing very young in order to enjoy myself, then I just kept going,” said the 19-year-old.

Boca Juniors’ young forward Leandro Paredes has commented that ‘I am a Roma player’, ahead of completing an anticipated loan move.

Boca: Paredes joining Roma

Boca Juniors have confirmed that they are allowing Leandro Paredes to join Roma on an initial loan deal.

The Gazzetta dello Sport have picked up quotes today from the Argentine club’s President Daniel Angelici, confirming that the 19-year-old attacking midfielder is set for the Italian capital.

“Paredes leaves tomorrow [today], we have authorised his departure for Italy,” Angelici has commented.

Paredes heading to Roma

Roma are reportedly in pole position to land promising Argentine youngster Leandro Paredes.

The attacking midfielder, still just 19, has been on the radar of Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini – a man who is renowned for his knowledge of the South American market.

According to Sport Panorama, the Serie A leaders have basically done a deal with Boca Juniors for his signature.
