'Everton privileged to have Ancelotti'

Dominic Calvert-Lewin says Everton are “privileged” to have Carlo Ancelotti and that it is an “unbelievable time” for the club with him at the helm.

Ancelotti took charge of Everton after he was shown the door by Napoli in mid-December and has gone on to win two of his first three games.

Calvert-Lewin has benefitted hugely from the appointment, already scoring three goals under the former Milan and Real Madrid coach.

Rosetti: 'VAR for obvious offsides'

There is increasing confusion over VAR, as while an IFAB representative changes earlier comments, UEFA’s Roberto Rosetti insists offside must be “clear and obvious.”

Video Assistant Referee technology is now used in Europe’s top leagues as well as the Champions League, but debate is raging on whether it should disallow goals for what Premier League pundits have called ‘an armpit offside.’

Marlon: 'Sassuolo stepping stone'

Sassuolo defender Marlon has confessed “I think I will go back” to Barcelona one day and that playing in the Premier League is a “dream” of his.

Marlon joined Sassuolo in the summer of 2018 after a season on loan at French side at Nice and has gone on to establish himself in the Neroverdi’s back four.

However, Barca have reserved a buyback option for the Brazilian.

Report: Alonso will cost Inter €40m

Inter have reportedly made Marcos Alonso their main target to fill the left-back position, but Chelsea are allegedly asking for €40m to complete a transfer.

Antonio Conte brought the former Fiorentina player to London and the Gazzetta dello Sport claims he has made the Spanish defender his priority also during the transfer window this winter.

The newspaper claims the price could stand in Conte’s way, as the Blues are not ready to let their man go for anything less than €40m.

Fiorentina closing in on Cutrone?

Sporting director Daniele Prade has already been in England, reportedly hoping to bring Wolverhampton forward Patrick Cutrone to Fiorentina on a loan deal.

Tuttosport claims that the Viola director has been in touch with Wolverhampton to open discussions about a possible return to Serie A for the 21-year-old.

The newspaper claims that Torino will be ready to fight for his signature and both clubs are looking to bring him on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to buy next summer.

The Partenopei have been rumoured to look for a midfielder this winter and the Corriere dello Sport reports that the 23-year-old Gunner could be on his way to the San Paolo.

The newspaper claims that President Aurelio De Laurentiis and coach Gennaro Gattuso have already planned out the strategy to convince the London club to let the Uruguay international leave the Emirates Stadium.

Lukaku: 'CR7 told me...'

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku says Cristiano Ronaldo warned him about how tough Serie A is. “He told me this is the hardest defensive League in the world.”

The Belgian gave an interview to the New York Times on Monday, in which he gave his opinion on playing in Serie A compared to the Premier League.

Lukaku scored 14 goals in 22 games for Inter in the first half of the season, 12 of which came in Serie A.

However, he told the newspaper: “He [Ronaldo] told me this is the hardest defensive League in the world.

Conte: 'I hate losing!'

Inter coach Antonio Conte reveals how defeats impact on him more than victories and accepts he is not “very diplomatic” when speaking to the Press.

Conte is known for his animated celebrations in the dugout, but he insists the euphoria is “very short”, compared to the sensation of losing, which lasts for “a day or two”.

Report: Haaland to Manchester

Juventus target Erling Braut Haaland has been spotted travelling to Manchester this morning, allegedly to negotiate with United.

Norwegian newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad writes it “has sources telling them Braut Haaland and his farther Alf-Inge Haaland went to Manchester from Sola [airport] on Friday morning.”

It contradicts the report from Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, which claims Juventus are in pole position for the Norway striker.
