Brescia eye friendly with Barca

Pep Guardiola's visit to Brescia last week has led to speculation that a friendly to mark the club's centenary could be arranged with Barcelona.

Il Giornale understands that Brescia are planning three days of festivities to celebrate their 100th birthday either in June, later in the summer or in September.

A lot depends on whether Brescia survive in Serie A. They currently lie second from bottom with just eight games of the season remaining.

Juventus plan Mascherano assault

Juventus aim to lure Javier Mascherano away from Barcelona at the end of this season, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Old Lady plans to rebuild her central midfield in the summer and Claudio Marchisio is the only player in that position Juventus consider untouchable.

La Gazzetta understands Beppe Marotta would sell Felipe Melo if the right offer were to arrive and that Alberto Aquilani is too expensive to buy outright from Liverpool.
