A shock report in the Netherlands on Wednesday claimed Milan had offered €20m for Dijks, despite a deal for Theo Hernandez being imminent.

Responding to the speculation, he told Algemeen Dagblad: “Last year i was on the bench at Ajax and now a big club like Milan want to pay €20m for me.

“I don’t know what’s going on. I’m living life with a big smile on my face. I like Serie A and who knows if I’ll be at a top club like Milan next season.”

It is understood the Rossoneri want the 26-year-old to form a new-look left flank with Theo, allowing Diego Laxalt, Ricardo Rodriguez and Ivan Strinic to all move on.

The tall stopper only joined Bologna from Ajax last summer and caught the eye during their great escape from relegation in 2018-19.
