“It is an early fixture in an intermediary phase of the season, so will simply give indications going forward,” the Inter director – formerly of Juventus – told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am working for Inter, it is another chapter, another story, with the same adrenaline and passion. I am happy to be here and hope it is a wonderful advertisement for all of Italian football.”

This is the first time that Conte has faced Juve, a club he represented for 13 years as a player and three as a Coach.

“Conte might have butterflies in the stomach because it’s an important game. We are top of the table and want to maintain that position, so of course there is a lot of motivation.

“You cannot cancel history, we had a wonderful experience at Juventus, but let’s look to the present. We want to take Inter back to where they belong, the club invested heavily and we hope to continue building on this project.

“Juve are the favourites going in, but we believe in our capabilities.”
