Genoa confirmed “Malaga offered us Eliseu,” but the Francesco Lodi-Panagiotis Tachtsidis exchange is held up.
“It is true, Malaga offered us Eliseu about 10 days ago,” Genoa director of sport Daniele Delli Carri told Secolo XIX newspaper.
The 29-year-old midfielder is a Portuguese international who was owned by Lazio until 2010, although he went out on loan to Malaga and Real Zaragoza.
His contract with Malaga expires in June 2014, so it would appear the Spanish side is eager to sell before he becomes a free agent.
Meanwhile, several other Genoa moves have hit problems. This morning the exchange between Alberto Gilardino and Roma’s Marco Borriello was abandoned.
It is also reported that the swap between Tachtsidis and Catania star Lodi has also run into obstacles. The Greek international, who Genoa bought out from Roma’s co-ownership deal this summer, is not convinced.
