Former Milan goalkeeper Dida discusses Gigi Donnarumma: 'He has a great talent, he'll surpass me'.
The 17-year-old goalkeeper is one of the biggest talking points in Italian football, all the more so after this Thursday's debut with the national team.
On from Dino Zoff's favourable comments, the Rossonero youngster was praised by another veteran of the role.
“He has great talent and I think he can do more than I did with Milan's colours, because he is very young,” said Dida, in an interview with Sportmediaset. “Gigio has already demonstrated his value, and I think he's going to develop even more.
“The Rossoneri did extremely well in taking him off the market. Donnarumma has enormous value and with Milan he can become great.”
Dida then went on to discuss the future of Milan with Vincenzo Montella, and without Silvio Berlusconi.
“Montella is at the beginning of his path. He's working well and you can tell that his mentality has changed compared to the years that just went by. I hope Milan can return to being great as they were.
“I'm a little bit sorry about Berlusconi's departure, but from Brazil we could tell that some change was needed to drive the club forwards.”
