Olympique Marseille Coach Rudi Garcia feels it is “wonderful” to face Lazio again in the Europa League after his years at Roma.

It’s like a Derby della Capitale for the tactician after his side was drawn in the same group as Lazio, Eintracht Frankfurt and Apollon Limassol.

“It’s wonderful to return to Rome and face Lazio with a different club,” said Garcia in his Press conference.

The Frenchman was on the Giallorossi bench from 2013 to January 2016, overseeing 118 competitive games.

Garcia is to this day unbeaten against Lazio, picking up three wins and two draws.

He’s not the only one familiar with this derby atmosphere, as Marseille just signed Kevin Strootman from Roma this week.

“When you face Italian and German teams, you can never allow them any advantages and we won’t make that mistake.

“This is a more difficult group compared to the one we had last season, but I don’t think our opponents will be very happy at facing Marseille either.”
