Juventus have announced that striker Alberto Cerri has joined Cagliari permanently for €9m.

A statement on Juve’s website confirmed the deal, with Cerri having spent the season on loan at Cagliari.

It adds the obligation to buy was triggered by ‘pre-established contractual conditions’, similar to how Stefano Sturaro’s move to Genoa became permanent.

The 22-year-old has scored just one goal in 10 appearances for the Sardinians to date but was prolific in Serie B last term, netting 19 times in 37 games during a loan spell at Perugia.

He has already signed a contract until 2023 with Cagliari, while it is reported the Bianconeri have a buyback option.
