Sampdoria have officially confirmed the arrival of Andrea Ranocchia on loan from Inter.
The defender arrived for a medical this morning, as he seeks more playing time in an effort to force his way into the Italy squad for the European Championships.
“President Massimo Ferrero and UC Sampdoria are delighted to welcome Andrea Ranocchia,” a statement on the Blucerchiati’s website began.
“The defender, born in Assisi, Perugia on February 16 1988, arrives on a temporary basis from FC Internazionale.
“The player, who underwent medical tests at Laboratorio Albaro this morning, has joined-up with his new teammates for the afternoon session at Bogliasco.”
The move is not expected to be the last piece of business between the two clubs, with Samp striker Eder set to move the other way.
