The Rosanero’s season did not get off to a strong start, as they were held to a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes by Serie B club Bari in the Coppa Italia Third Round.
Using a 3-4-3 formation, Palermo had chances with Haitam Aleesami, Ilija Nestorovski and Slobodan Rajkovic.
However, Bari also had great scoring opportunities, as three times Italy Under-21 international Gaetano Monachello forced close-range saves from Josip Posavec.

It went into extra time and Posavec was again decisive on Kingsley Boateng, while substitute Simone Lo Faso tested the Bari goalkeeper.
Just as the referee was about to blow the final whistle on extra time for a penalty shoot-out, Chochev unleashed a left-foot strike that flashed past Micai to decide the tie.
It was thoroughly unimpressive from Palermo, but they will face Udinese or Spezia in the Fourth Round.
